Let's Celebrate, It's All Right!

We're working on our trading cards in digital imaging. I still haven't chosen the skaters yet, but I did decide to use Johnny's foot as the background.

Anyway I was looking through my photos and Red came up behind me and started gushing about my work and then spent most of the class period spying on my photos. He gave a few critiques, but said it was probably some of the best sports photography he'd seen in a while - and certainly the best figure skating lol

So I felt special. He was impressed.

I have this nagging cough that I can't get rid of and it's driving me nuts. I hate coughing, and especially in public as I know how annoying it is to people around me. BLAH!

Sold a textbook on Amazon today! 15 bucks in the bank, baby! lol

Other than that not much to report. I gotta get my butt in gear and update my Scotty site, and get on my mom to give me the latest happenings at FBCK so I can update that site.

I got offered to help with Keegan's site on FSO, so I'm really looking forward to that. I think I scared Jamie with my enthusiam when she asked, though ha ha!

Fur Rondy starts this weekend, which means the Rondy on Ice show is coming up. It's a USFSA sanctioned event, but even so I plan to be there and possibly take pictures. I got weird looks last time I was there for taking photos since I dont know any skaters, but considering Keegan is making waves in the skating community I say the show is fair game! LOL

I may just go and cheer on the skaters though. Anchorage FSC needs support even if they don't appreciate it.

There's a S. Central Photo Meet up on Saturday that I want to attend so that might be fun. Hopefully. We're going to shoot some of the happenings during Rondy. It'll be nice to get out even though the weather is not really all that Rondy friendly (people friendly, yes. winter fun, no lol)

Shinook winds came in and ate teh snow majorly. It's sad :(

Such a beautiful and tragic and wonderful and perfect story. No, I don't like the outcome, but I can't think of a better way to tell a story or to keep fans on their toes.

And who can't love Orlando Bloom as Will Turner in At World's End. There can't possibly be a hotter pirate on the planet. I LOVE how he was made up for AWE. The burgandy shirt alone is freaking hot. *dreamy sigh*

I better be careful, people might think I'm actually obsessed with Mr. Bloom.

I love Pirate bloopers lol. Absolutely hysterical. To know that they all are just normal and suck at remembering lines too is great. Johnny Depp has the most infectious laugh too. It's a quite one but his whole face lights up which cracks me up even more...

I'm watching all three Pirates movies today. Why? No real reason, other than I have the time and I have yet to watch all three back to back to back. I've done it with Star Wars - the Original Trilogy - so it's high time my new movie obsession get the same treatment. :)

I'm doing laundry, and once that's done I will finish packing and then get ready to go out to dinner. Since I will be in St. Paul on the 21st Judy's treating me early. :) We're gonna eat Chinese because I've been craving it for a week. I want an eggroll darn it!

I am so ready for this trip like you wouldn't believe. I've over packed my carry on but other than that I think I'm good as far as what I'm bringing. I just can't wait. I'm still so very bummed about Melissa and Denis, it'll just be weird not hanging with Dale and hearing the gossip lol and having Melissa and Denis tell stories on each other. I swear I've jinxed the event. Evan might as well quit now, I'm bad luck lol

I've decided that if I do any sort of 'report' from Nationals I'll only post here, but my main concern is posting photos on my photo site. ( http://alaskanmagic.smugmug.com ) but I have to keep some sort of log not only for myself, but so that my family up here don't think I've disappeared lol

I am currently selling off books I never plan to ever bother with again! hee hee! Hopefully someone needs it, otherwise I'm in a world of hurt...

not really but it would be nice to get something for these dumb things. Textbook buy back at UAA is a joke!

Other than that nothing much is going on. Have a lot of the prelim packing done. Clothes are pretty much packed, my jeans are about the only things that I can't pack until closer to the 19th, considering I need to have pants to go to school. I'm not gonna wear skirts in January to go to classes, thank you very much!

Then of course toiletries are the last things I have to deal with.

But I'm uber excited about it and I am kinda wishing the days would go that much faster, but at the same time I'm glad I'm not taking classes yet lol.

I'll have a week under my belt before St. Paul. I'm praying that my profs will be understanding. I will be missing 2 classes for my Tuesday-Thursday classes and 3 classes for my Monday Wednesday courses. So Yeah, Hez and I are going to be the homework girls when not at the areana (well she might have an easier work load than I will who knows).

I didn't take a required media ethics course because it is taught by Prof. Banchero and she gave me an F for the semester once she found out that the reason I was gone from my first week of classes was due to Nationals in 05, I missed more than the allotted ammount (she gives one excused absence and that's it.)

So yeah, we don't get along (she also does not like how I feel the media should be about reporting facts and not finding loopholes to create their own sort of truth) so the less I take from her the better lol.

I retook that course and passed it with a high B from a prof known to not give out anything above a C unless you really work your butt off. I love Prof Dillehey, and I'm hoping I get to work with him again in some class.

Anyway, yeah not a lot of excitement. Going on here.

Tomorrow is Grampy's service. Mom and Judy will be home Tuesday. One week left! WHEW!

I'm keeping occupied by hanging out at the DisneySites Message Board. It's the annual Member Awards, and we're having fun on the virtual red carpet lol. I love that group, most are my age or a bit younger. But it's not just a bunch of teenybopper type threads, we actually have some very good threads analyzing movies both old and new. And it's all about Disney so how can you not love it? LOL

ok So I really want Binky (binky1217) to go to Nationals this January. So I am on a one woman campaign to get her there. I told her all about the fun you all helped me have, and that she'd have soooooooo much fun because I wouldn't be the newbie and she would and so I could help her have fun (like she'd need help with a whole weeks worth of SKATING) so yeah. COME ON BINKY! YOU ARE GOING!!!!!!!!!

Anyway with that out of the way.. I am in a bit of pain as I pulled a muscle in my leg. Not sure how, I think it was when I fell down the stairs at the church, but I could be wrong. Long story, and yeah I don't want to get into it. Needless to say I am sore, and it sucks.

Because of my injury I did not paint like I told Andi and Binky I would. BTW, girls, our chat was AWESOME and we should do those weekly or something LOL Because it was so what I needed ;)

so yeah I am going to go find something to do that doesn't require me to move around... and because Duane is annoying me to no end... ( Friday Five: $Money$ )

183 days until Nationals

sorry for teh soap box and then emo posting. And to be clear NO ONE on my friends list made me mad lol It was a bunch of anon trolls who came out of the wood works... and one I KNOW was from a baptist message board because they were yelling at me for belonging to a church run by satan(ie my pastor) who had the audacity to stand up to the executive committee (I'm pretty sure it's the same jerk who emails hate letters to our pastor all the time... the guy seriously needs help LOL)

so yeah, just don't worry I was planning on a bigger posting when mom said "OFF THE NET NOW!" lol

so I was really bored all day today and well I didn't do much. Rocked out to John Williams for a while and then finally got dressed around 2 and drove over BY MYSELF to the church (its 5 minutes away but still) and spent 2 hours with Miss Joy. It was fun. I'm going over tomorrow morning to help paint her preschooler room... it should be fun...

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't think I got the job. We still haven't heard back from the visitor's center... so I am going to start job hunting after Joy's thing tomorrow...

then I've got the house to myself for 2 days woot woot! and the car so I might brave the roads by myself, we'll see.

Pastor Dean comes home today so I'm sure he'll be in a bummed out mood over the committee meetings again. They treat him like dirt and it ticks me off... I'm thinking of changing my layout (not too much just the graphics *gasp* getting rid of Ewan and Hayden for a while) and putting Dr. Patterson, Dr. Prevo, and Pastor Dean... I need a Baptist theme for a while I think... we'll see I might just go for a Bible verse...

I was supposed to hear back from them yesterday, but it sounded like they were having communication problems within the whole process so I am not too worried. I'll give them until Friday and if I don't hear back it's back to job searching for me. I will be bummed, but oh well.

ummmmmmmmm what else... drove around for a while yesterday helped miss Joy figure out how to change the calendar on the church website so that I wouldn't always be needed! but yeah fat chance of that LOL It's an easy program but she'd just rather I do it so that if something does go wrong it will be my fault. LOL


I forgot to talk about my "teaching" Sunday School this past Sunday. We watched VeggieTales: Duke & the Pie War. It's the most boring one of the series IMHO, but it's still really good. The first segment is about Baby Moses. It's really cute and much better than the title feature, but Marcus-Tyrell did not enjoy it. The kid has no imagination. LOL. His biggest problems were that peas don't talk. And that Moses was not a baby carrot he was a PERSON. He also didn't like it when Miriam put the baby in the water, or when she got hit in the face with baby food. LOL So yeah I was not a big hit in sunday school. Next time I'm gonna bring a different veggietales... or I'll just let them run wild all morning heh heh heh.

Other than that nothing much to report... I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wanting to be at nationals again. I was re-reading my journal entries and we just had so much fun... *sigh* oh well... gonna hit the message boards and then gonna head upstairs and work more on my scrapbook... I should scan some of the pages so you all can see them...

Even though MY DAD was not HERE. He was way up in TOK. But still it was nice to have the evening off from church. LOL. I was being a lazy bum yesterday after driving over to pizza hut for lunch and back to the church because mom forgot half a dozen things. I'm totally getting into this driving thing. LOL

Then I came home and got into my pj bottoms because they're more comfy and I broke out my scrapbook stuff and started working on my nationals scrapbook. I'm all the way up to Katie and Garrett's LP Practice (the one where Hez and I randomly ran into each other LOL and we were more interested in what Peter Carruthers was up to ;) instead of who was skating... or at least I was) Everything was going good until I made a page upsidedown... and it's my favorite page... so I have to redo it... I ruined a whole page of Katie & Garrett *sobbles*

I watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves yesterday afternoon. It's one of my all time favorite Kevin Costner films. Christian Slater is awesome in the movie too, as is Morgan Freeman (in my country, we talk to our women... we do not drug them with plants" hee hee. Great movie. The witch scares the crap out of me though! ;)

Then I plugged in JAWS and wanted mom to stay and watch it with me (she was gardening all day yesterday) because you know people say this movie is scare your pants of scary... yeah. I guess generation ILM just isn't going to be scared by a rubber jawwed shark. Because it wasn't scary. At all. Nope. BOOOOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG LOL However, Steven Spielberg's handle of the shots and everything is great. Just not a favorite movie of mine. So today I'll watch Saving Private Ryan and probably The Mask of Zorro and then I'll drive and go get more (can you believe that the Kenai blockbuster DOESN'T HAVE ET?????????)

Today I have an interview at the Kenai Visitor & Cultural Center. I'm scheduled for 1:45pm AKST, so please keep me in your prayers as I go and try to get this job. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want this job. So I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I get it. :)

So yeah I am going to go... I am getting nervous so I am going to surf the net or something to relax myself (ha ha)

(btw, I have 245 star wars icons as of today and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the one I'm using for this entry)

ok so yeah I'm watching Finding Nemo now. There is nothing on the network stations, and since my parents don't even have cable Im stuck trying to amuse myself in anyway I can hee hee

So it took an extra long time to get my contacts in today. Not sure why but yeah they are now in. LOL. I am so pathetic.

As is the weather... for crying outloud... the rain is still pouring (and yes I realized I didn't spell it correctly earlier) and it knocked out the pwer for about 20 minutes. CRAZY-NESS.

So right before the power went out, and while I was still trying to get the stupid contact in my eye, the Kenai Visitor Center called. I have to go in for an interview on Monday at 1:45!!!!!! YAY! But now I get to worry about it for 2 days... *sigh* so pray that that goes well :)

so yeah I was going to go out today and rent more movies, but mom has me freaking out about hydroplaning so I am going to stay in and hope the weather clears up a bit more..

Oh I have a "goal" of sorts that I want to achieve this summer. Now, don't laugh, but during my visualization in the media course we were discussing great movies and great directors. I of course went gushfesty over Steven Spielberg, and very few people agreed with me. Tim Burton and Michael Moore were considered better. Tim Burton MAYBE could be in teh same realm... but Michael Moore??? GAG ME. Anyway then people started talking about some of Spielberg's movies that I hadnt seen and then I realized just how many I hadn't... so I am going to make a list of all of his films... and I'll cross out the ones I have seen. Hopefully by September I'll have seen all of them

The rain is flat pooring today... it's just running off the roof. It's crazy. And cold. So no garage sale today... we're moving it to Thursday/Friday. No complaints from me! :-D

Got a call from dad last night while we were watching "De-lovely" (which I thought was overhyped after seeing the movie, but that's just me) and so he knows I got my drivers license and he couldn't shut up about it and I was all "Thank GOD he won't be here on Sunday to tell the whole church!" LOL My dad is a dork, but he's a lovable dork. ;)

I want food, so I am going to go scavenge and find something to munch... toodles!

As for about noon thirty AKST I became a licensed driver. Yep I can officially drive on my own... scary I know.

After that mo had me driver her all over creation lol. But it's ok because I got the STAR WARS EPISODE III REVENGE OF THE SITH Soundtrack and montage DVD... I am watching it now and OMG I LOVE IT!!!!! JOHN WILLIAMS IS A GOD! ok not really but seriously, the man can do no wrong composition wise... and Ewan McGregor as Obi-wan is TOTAL HOTNESS, but we already knew that. ;)

Seriously I love this already... *gushes*

I also got new socks and some shades :) I haven't been able to wear sunglasses since 7th grade. They're blue and really cool.

So yeah nothing else to report... just letting you all know. And for those of you who prayed THANK YOU, you ROCK!!!!!!

the first day of Vacation Bible School. If I never have to hear the song "Raise Some Praise" again I will die a happy girl ha ha. Unfortunately I know it will be played regularly this week. UGH

In other news, I submitted my resume to the Kenai Visitor's Center this afternoon. Pray that it's what they're looking for. I would love this job. It would completely rock to have a job. Especially down HERE in the SUMMER. And it's something I know loads about. I get to gush about the awesomeness that is Kenai/Alaska. Yeah I whine about the winter, but the summers flat ROCK here.

Kassy comes home on the 12th! I am so excited to see her again, though I worry she'll be changed and we'll have even less in common. It's not like she and I have been the closest of best friends in a while, but still. I hate change of any kind, even if it's for the best.

Oh! and if anyone has seen Madagascar can you tell me if you liked it? Dad wants to see it, but then one of my close friends came back from it yesterday and he didn't like it (but he doesn't like Shrek either). And then one of my favorite little kids said he didn't like it either. But he doesn't like Revenge of the Sith either so what does he know ;) ha ha!

I love Mrs. Joy's grandkids: Tyreke and Marcus... Ty is 4 and Marcus is almost 4. They crack me up!

Ok so I haven't watched a Star Wars trailor yet today. So I am making progress, right? Forget that, I fell to my inner darkside *sigh*

I have watched the "Becoming Obi-Wan" behind the scenes piece for starwars.com though. But that's my Ewan fix! Not my star wars one! Right?? so it doesn't count, right????

Nothing much to report. Got out of math early today. Not sure why. I am sooooooo bored.

I have fallen in love with a group of Star Wars fans over at Padme's Corner/Wardrobe... they are a lot of fun. All we do is gush about Ewan McGregor and Star Wars, it's the best!!!


Got an email from the guy I worked for during the Iditarod. My portfolio is here!!! I have to go pick it up sometime this week. I am excited to see how they turned out. hopefully I will go tomorrow in between classes or something...

if not my Friday outing will have to deal with two stops.

42 days until the Revenge of the Sith!!

I finally went and watched the new trailors... OMG I seriously want May 19th to be here... The wait is too intense for my feeble little mind LOL

Other than that nothing really to report. Another boring same ol same ol day...

Waiting for Friday. Duane and dad are coming up for the Sportsman Show thingie and I am going to tag along. I think before they get up here -- unless they have plans I'm unaware of -- I am going to go to Barnes and Noble and see what they have in the way of books. I am looking to complete my Star Wars New Jedi Order collection, and there are a few that I don't have that I have read that I want. So I think that's what I'll do. I THINK I have figured out which bus to take... now if I can only get the courage up to see if I'm right. ha ha!

I seriously need to STOP WATCHING anything Star Wars Revenge of the Sith related... I am getting way too excited...


BTW, the teaser trailor sucks LOL

In other news, I am going to start studying my drivers manuel... I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE, but it's the cold hard truth that I have to. *sigh* growing up sucks....

I am still looking for a good layout idea for my journal. Someone suggest a look. The theme will be Star Wars... I just need an idea of how it will look (not photos but where everything will go)

So my math class was cancelled AGAIN. I swear the teacher skips more than her students do. I don't mind though. She treats everyone like crap. I hope she doesn't get to come back. She is not a good teacher.

So I am sitting here way early on my butt in the hall waiting for 3:45 to come around. There is no padding on the floor, but the chairs are not near the plug ins, and my battery only lasts 2 hours... *sigh* and my computer slows WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY down when it's not plugged in. Which is understandable.

Is it sad that my little "counter" on my files saying how many times I've accessed a certain file shows that I have watched the Star Wars trailor 124 times?????? I think it's pretty pathetic. Yes. For those of you unaware of the sad fact: I have no life. 1 month, 2 weeks, 1 day until the Revenge of the Sith, and yes, I am excited!

I'd also like to send a shout out to fuuraibou to say CONGRATS!!!! Getting the news on your salvation just rocked my socks! *hugs*


Ok... I am going to surf the web for another hour and 15 mins before I go into class and do the exact same thing. (Hey we ARE out of the roaring 20s now... but this week it's the 50s, so I'm sure women like my mom who stay at home and just be moms will be insulted by my prof... UGH... if you hear about me getting bailed out of jail tomorrow don't be surprised... just know she pissed me off ha ha!



And *I* just tripped my friend (actually he was trying to be "cute" by kicking my foot and he just splatted so I better go see if he is ok lol)
