Let's Celebrate, It's All Right!

You know, I complain about the US of A becoming less child friendly due to the courts and all... but seriously I have had it up to here with children who are badly behaved. My brother included! And it's not so much the child's fault as it is the parents/adults in its life!!!!

My aunt's best friend has two grandchildren, both are in teh toddler stage. One is almost two the other is just over 3 years old... Both can be sweet kids. Really. They're cute, smart... but they are VERY BADLY BEHAVED! Not so much the 2 year old. No matter what my aunt seems to think--or for that matter his grandmother--he's pretty much on course. Not like the perfect little guy I love to death down at home whom I wish I were babysitting and not these two... However the 3 year old is Princess BRAT.A lot of it is she is S-P-O-I-L-E-D by her Grandmother and my Aunt. Now before you say "well they're supposed to do that" they DON'T do it for the other grandchildren (there are 7 in all) not even her little brother. Yet to hear them talk you'd think the parents were worthless pieces of crap (sure they're not the perfect parents in that *gasp* they work long hours and *gasp* the house isn't always in order DUH they have TODDLERS and WORK LONG HOURS). I've met both parents and while the dad is a little standoffish I think he's just shy... the mom is a kick and she really loves her kids. However Judy and "Grandma" are really turning the princess against her own parents.

Grandma disiplines all the kids, except for this little girl. She is the total favorite... and hey I was the favorite, and I was spoiled... but I still knew how to behave because my parents still layed down the law (they so should and could have been harder on me though!!) but not with this little one. FORGET doing anything to make her mad... she will throw huge fits!!! I am NOT used to this. Sure Duane does it but that's because he gets away with it... but I don't expect it out of a child whom I've been told is perfectly behaved. No. She is not even close. I babysat Cody for a year and he was the sweetest more PERFECT kid... I miss him terribly

anyway, today was the worst because she pulled apart all of the decorations and got into things she KNOWS not to get into... and of course the feeling is "well it's her age" never mind that when her brother does it HE gets yelled at... (and yet they say the same thing in reverse about their parents, incredible!) I dunno I guess I'm more frustrated with this because it's my Aunt who is encouraging this crap... I dunno it's also THAT TIME so I'm just bitchy anyway... but still it's not fun...

we have them tomorrow too... yeay

ok so today's weather was crap... rain mixed with snow... and it was nasty...

anyway I head out at 8:30 to catch the people mover to get to class on time... and I'm walking a long and this jerk pulls closer so that he can splash me! I was so mad! Thankfully he didn't splash too much, but it still ticked me off. I did not wake up early for that thank you! I got on an earlier bus than usual though, and that was good, still I was soaked because of the rain(even with an umbrella)

then I went to get a snack before school, however I only had a twenty and one of those funky new styled ones at that. The change machiene won't take the new money!!! So I didn't have anything to eat until noon because that's when I could get a Subway(not my favorite place, but the one at the college is actually decent) then it was time for my next class and we got out early from that so I got on an early bus... after getting drenched on teh way to the bus stop... so I dry off in the bus and get off... and this huge truck goes by and SPLASH I am soaked from head to toe... you'd think that these people can see me and I'm on the farthest part of the sidewalk without gettinginto people's yards, and that they'd move into a different lane, but no it's more fun to make the pedestrian FREEZE... ticked me off...


then tonight's class with Mr. Boring was sooooooooooo boring...

I miss Mr. Summer's history class so much... oh well I couldn't stay in 8th grade forever...

oh and want to hear something to blow your mind. Mr. Boring got mad at the class for doing homework he "didn't assign" basically he didn't remember handing out homework sheets last week and so we did more homework than we were supposed to!!!! And so as a "punishment" he gave us more homework on the same subject... I guess he was trying to be funny... it sucks


oh well :(

And I just noticed that I hadn't credited some of the icecon graphics, I promise I'll do that tomorrow! I don't wanna be bounced!!!

Ok so we're off the Bush took over Al-Qaeda and bombed his own country bit. And for some reason Dan Rather didn't come up (will refrain from saying something on that whole thing... for now)... now the weird lady wants to hold a funeral for television. While I do like the idea she was fixated on the television's spirit. It's her "thinking out of the box" fixation. Tonight her whole thing is that we "shouldn't be scared to get a bad grade" because that's teh school's form of censorship... Censorship or not... with a class over 200 bucks I'm sucking up and getting a good grade so I don't have to RETAKE the freakin class!!!

Her whole thing was really good until the end... we'd talk about how TV got started and then go into present day TV... (with commercials with bidding and some fear factor mixed in... and something else I will rant on about in a few minutes [all of that was stupid but still the basic idea was good]) then we'd go into where the "specialists" were predicting where TV would go. This is where she planned to hold the funeral and have someone play the spirit of TV and we'd some how hoist the spirit up to the ceiling...


then one of the things we'd talk about is the shock factor... and she wanted to show the footage of the people's being beheaded. And she was saying BUSH was cold hearted???????????????????????????????????????? I kept saying I'd refuse to do something like that. She said I needed to GROW UP. That I shouldn't push my beliefs on her(she also wanted nudity for some reason, no clue why... something about SNL??) and I was like... ok so how come *MY* beliefs and opinions don't count? What about the rest of the group... the woman's boyfriend was even on our side tonight... it was so insane!!! She said she loved how TV has become shocking... hmmmmmmmm no I don't think I want to relive someone's head being sawed off(I haven't seen the footage, BUT I didn't need to, she went into graphic detail)... September 11th is about all I can handle... and I can only handle stills of that(AT BEST) before I get pissed and I'm ready to lay waste to all of that area of the world or I just feel sick(and sometimes both).

So yeah we told her she was off her rocker and we're going with the original idea BUT we will talk about the history of TV... our "Jay Leno" will interview the past, present and future of TV...

we'll see... we have 2 and a half months so ... keep praying I'm ready to tear my hair out...




In other news
I am going down to Kenai for the weekend... I'm excited!! I miss home.. I know people there LOL I'm going to drop in on some of my teachers... and then on Miss Joy and Pastor Dean... then on Sat who knows what I'll do... and then Sunday I get to go to MY CHURCH!!! I have NEVER missed it so much...

I'll try and keep up with all of you while I'm down there...

I'm also not looking forward to voting for the Alaskan senator... *sigh* Murkowski votes more like a democrat than a republican... and KNOWLES--while the only democrat in Alaska I like--would swing the democrats back into power in the senate... so I can't vote for him... not only that but the only reason he's gotten the attention of the democrat national party is because he can swing the power... he didn't vote for Gore--voted for Bush as far as I know--but he's still not a republican! LOL

but whatever... I'm tired of Knowles vs Murkowski... wish her dad would stop playing governer and take back his senate seat... rather be able to have Knowles in the governer's house down in Juneu forever than have him in senate... but he served his 8 years(right along with Clinton YEUCH) and now we don't have that option... :-p

In my journalism class I've already had issues where I've kept my mouth shut and then ranted here(which I take it most of you didn't enjoy, but I'll try to remember to put it under a cut from now on) and I guess that proves I'm more hot headed than I'd like to admit. It happens... anywho

( ok this is getting long and ranty so just in case. It isn't as much my political views as it is my ranting over a stupid project that is going to find me failing a class ugh!!! )
needless to say I have had bad luck in the past with group projects because I managed to always get in a group that couldn't get things done. This year seems to be no exception. At least we're arguing though... because normally I'm stuck doing the work and no one else is. I tried talking the teacher into letting me do something else but this is the big part of our grade so there's no way. and since this is my subject major I'm stuck with the TV part as Movies is full and overflowing with people in that group. I'm sunk....


sorry for the rant I just it irks me... there was more(they came up to me and tried to change my mind after class, talked down to me. I was born and raised 'rasslin with Bears. I have no time for weird people who think that by standing over me while I sit at a desk I will completely believe that they're God. Ain't happening!)

And I apologise about being all politic-y lately (especially to you Chele!) it's just between the people I mentioned above and all of the "plans" Kerry has I just see the Clinton/Gore mess in Alaska happening all over again and I really don't want to see that happening. It majorly sucked. My parents are just now getting back on their feet... and a lot of my life savings went into feeding us during those 8 years and I'm just afraid that it will happen again. Then where will my education be??? UGH so if I vent on you feel free to IM me a smack me a good one... LOL

We watched a film on September 11th. It was the CBS special on the firefighters. I'd seen it before, and yet it really impacted me. My prof lost a family member in one of the towers. She then asked us if the media did a good job with 9-11. I wasn't so sure, I thought they did great with reporting it, but I didn't like how they bashed Bush after the first week. I thought they should have waited a bit longer because nothing like this had happened before, and it wasn't like he was hiding behind a desk. I didn't say anything as I didn't know the dynamics of the class but I was pretty sure I was in the minority when it came to political views.

Then we watch a long and very boring and completely stupid video on this media "guru" who felt that the REPUBLICAN government controlled the media and made sure that they looked better than the other people of the world. Last I checked it was totally the other way around. He also protested the Viet Nam war... I'm sorry but I have no time or love for people who did that. It's BECAUSE of jerks like them(Kerry included, I don't care if he somehow talked the military into a purple heart, coming back and INSULTING the troops proves just how much of a dick[sorry] he is!) My dad and his two brothers and my mother's two brothers were all in that war so don't TELL me that what they went through was pointless. Don't tell me they're murderers. You think that and you're as stupid as most everyone else. Did we play it out right, I doubt it, but don't you DARE blame the war on the troops!

So then we had to discuss this completely retarded thing... I was too pissed off to want to debate because anyone that agreed with the dork wasn't worth my time. So then this Norwegian gets on his high horse and said that it might not be the government but that Americans only cared about themselves and that's why our media is awful. (while I agree America looks out for number one it's not like we are not helping out all over the world, we just choose not to put it on TV. That's what the 'net is for) I didn't say anything during this class everything started my blood boiling a little bit more...

but the guy from Norway was the guy that got me most. Here is a guy who MY TAX DOLLARS are paying for to go to an AMERICAN school because he's on some foriegn exchange program. However AMERICA is the one who is stuck on itself? If we're SO bad why is his butt in MY AMERICAN CLASSROOM?????? I would be thanking each and everyone of the students there paying not only for their education but mine as well. It pissed me off. I am not saying that he shouldn't be there, I'm saying he was totally out of line. If we're so bad, stay out of the country. I wouldn't go to the middle east because I know and believe that it's dangerous and heck they hate Americans anyway... I definately wouldn't go there and insult them.

I'm sorry if this offends, it's just so stupid that we allow people in and they don't appreciate it, and then say AMERICA is uncaring UGH.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July(well those in the US anyway, but I hope everyone else's day went great too!)

Mine pretty much sucked, 'cept when Erin came over... and it ended pretty well... but thanks to Prince Duane's tantrum we did not go do a family thing, we sat at home while he participated in the parade with his friends... dad was a total bear after that. And so it ruined my *probably* last 4th of July at home... Duane didn't get home till late and so we didn't get to go out to the lake at all... UGH

In happier news, I will be going on a one day road trip to Homer today!

I dunno, I mean, yeah it's fun working on the computer and online, in one form or another. And I love chatting it up with everyone, but really I really really really hate just sitting here all teh time. Mom's always like "well go do something". Being as how I'm "uncool" to be with most of the time I don't see how I can "have fun" by myself. And Erin is busy with bowling today, and it's too cold to take a walk, and *sigh* I just hate it. I want something important to do like a job or something. But no, I am just a big fat lazy bum. So here I am typing up another journal entry for people to read(people I've never met yet I talk about all the time), and I feel like I'm a loser and a failure in every sense of the word(s). It sucks. I want to go to a movie or something but with no money, and my parents being sucked dry thanks to Christmas and birthdays I don't dare ask for 10 bucks to see a show with anyone. I HATE BEING BORED! I HATE THIS LIFE! *sigh*

May I just rant for about 3 bazillion years on the whole stupidity of skating fanatics? I mean, I am one, but still!!! I don't think I am half as bad as some of the people out there today. It's not just in skating, but I'm a mod/admin on a few boards and it's getting annoying! Yeah Kwan won 8, she stayed on her feet and to a lot of people had the skate of her life. Yippee!!! I guess. Personally I thought Jenny, even with her fall, was way better. But that's because she had the flu and still she sparkled. She'll be unstoppable next year! :D Yeah, Sasha had the lead after the short program, and *gasp* surprise surprise she fell down and went BOOM in the long. What's so different about that? Do we really need to throw insults to one another? Personally Sasha didn't deserve the 6.0 if Jenny didn't. Jenny was amazing out there. Sasha got a 6.0 because of her name. And a lot of times the same can be said of Michelle. The ladies competition was what the men's was last year... whoever stayed up won. To say Sasha deserved to win is outrageous when Michelle clearly had the better skate. That being said I wish Jenny would have won! I want one of MY favorites to win! *tee hee*

But seriously. The bickering between Michelle fans and Tara/Sarah/Sasha fans is rediculous. Michelle, no matter WHAT Peggy/Dick/Peter/Terry say(s), is not the cornerstone of figure skating. She's not God, and she's not the end-all of skating. Skating was here long before Michelle was, and it will be here when she retires(whenever that will be... ). To say that it's a farce that anyone beat her is a farce in and of itself.

That being said, Tara/Sarah/Sasha are not overly amazing for beating Michelle. Nor are they eville because they were able to out skate/shine Michelle. So get off the high-horse already!

Or at least DON'T bring it to the skating boards where I have to moderate LOL!
