Let's Celebrate, It's All Right!

...it's being talked about on all of the skating boards and egroups. Dewey Browning's battle with male breast cancer is over. I guess CBC did a little blurb at the end of their broadcast. He was such a figure head in Canadian/Men's skating not just as "Kurt's Dad" but as someone who genuinely cared about the sport his son participated in. Both Neva and Dewey were committed to Kurt's endeavors but also strived to raise him to be more than just a jock, and he's taken those lessons to heart. The world needs more like them, and sadly we've had to lose them.

I don't know where I'm going with this, so I'll stop before I seem completely looney. My prayers are with Kurt and the entire Browning family tonight as they mourn the loss of their father & grandfather. You'll be missed, Dewey!

Granted it was Rena and greaseball, but still... why don't you cut away from them when they're posing and doing stupid stereotypical country western dance "moves"?

BLAH! I can't wait to take over the school these people on how to shoot a skating event.


Kurt's little message was so off the cuff, and you could tell he was worried about his dad he had tears in his eyes... praying Dewey beats this third go around!

Kurt's out of the Skate For Life - Dewey's battle with cancer isn't going well, and Kurt's in Alberta right now. :-( My prayers are with them at this time.

Kurt is also preparing to have knee surgery later this month, october is not looking good for him so far. :(

Guess who is FINALLY watching Kurt Browning's Gotta Skate 6.0.... that'd be me. I finally found which tape it's on and now I am converting it to DVD... because if there was one show that must be saved for all time... it's the Kurt specials because they're freaking above the rest. That's right, I said it, Kurt is king of skating. Sorry Scotty - SOI comes second.

Anyway, I'm totally crushing on him hard. Yes, he's over 40. Yes he's old enough to be my dad (albiet a very young dad lol) and YES he's married with two beautiful little boys... but OMG that makes me love him more...

Is it sad that I want a guy just like Kurt - but who is a Christian? I honestly don't believe that guy exists at this point ha ha!

I love the little fluffy bit with Kurt and family sitting around the table and he's all about being dad to little Gabe. Too freaking cute (I'm ignoring the whole nanny issue at the moment. lol.) There couldn't be a more perfect couple than Kurt and Sonia...

okay, there probably is, but not tonight.

And, yes, I am officially crazy. Or at the very least bi-polar considering last night's post. Ha ha! But hey, Kurt and the gang makes me happy. That's what skating should be. Right there *points at Kurt skating on her TV* He's freaking fantastic. Screw Olympic titles, he doesn't need them. Considering the reigning Olympic Champion's "skating" and really most of the olympic men's champions or at least podium placers can't hold a candle to Kurt. I dare Ilia, Alexei, and Plushy to work as long and as hard and continue to grow as a skater and a performer.

And when they're 40 something have girls 18-20 years younger swoon over them like they're young adults! ;) AND have a smokin hot and talented wife and cute kids. HA!

OMG! I am watching Ice Wars (it's half over) right now and the whole tribute to Scott was great... I want to know what Kurt wanted to say but couldn't! And Kristi and Brian were so touching... I actually cried. Emotions running high right now, I guess. So I want to join them right now and just wishing Scott well. I Love You, Scott!!! GET WELL REAL SOON!









on a happier note... Keira (sp) is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute! And she was Sleeping Beauty for Hallowe'en!!! that rules all man! And Kurt's "#1 Dad" program while really kind of boring and beneath him skating wise, was great as well... and Sonia and Gabe are with him always, which is awesome. I love my pro skaters!!!!
