The Duchess - Wow...

Oh to live in a time with pretty dresses, eh?

Not if you're Georgina. I just finished watching The Duchess and it is just wonderful... the story is told brilliantly, the settings and costumes were just wow. And the acting was spot on especially by Fiennes and Knightly. Holy cow. Keira knocked it out of the ball park with this one and if she doesn't get recognized for it I'll be very dissapointed. I found this film far better than Atonement though the stories are very similar in some ways, and the ending doesn't harken Disney at all. lol.

I am seeing a pattern with Keira's films lol the ending just aren't all that happy to me. It all started with Pirates 3 and it's snowballing and getting worse. BLAH!

But all in all the film is masterful. I hope it doesn't get buried come Oscar time. It probably will, there's talk of other films already, but I think it deserves at the very least a mention... but I'm all for Keira winning best actress. She deserves it most definitely this time around.

*sigh* other than that, not much to talk about... I have FIVE DAYS till Disney, and I am mostly packed. The last things are essentials that can't be packed until the day of. Which, for me, means Saturday night... only 4 days away from that! *whew*!

Got the call from Janine a little bit ago. They got in way later than I expected. We're meeting up tomorrow so I can give her the lasagna. *sigh* I think I'll go from there over to my gparents... depending on when and where we meet. She said she'd give me a call in the morning once she figured out what she'd be doing.

Alright, I've got a load to go into the laundry, so I'm out.

Haven't done anything exciting...

I've been doing my best to not get sick, but last night I was defeated. I don't have a full blown cold but I just feel incredibly run down. The three day migraine hasn't helped, either. It's managable today, though. Which is good, because I don't want to miss another one of Edgar's classes. haha!

We're currently watching Salvador in class, it is not a very good film, if you ask me. Personally if a film only uses the same three swear words and very little else, it's not worth watching. My paper on the film will probably not be very good. Then again neither was my paper on Outfoxed. And before you think I just defended FoxNews, I didn't. I can't stand the program either, but I hate that the people on the movie said that Fox is the only biased network out there. It's like the kettle calling the pot black. That the press tries to say they don't push one candidate or agenda over another is absurd. In a perfect world journalism would stay neutral but it NEVER HAS. Look at how the Revolution was started, or just about every war we learn about in school. It starts with some big wig deciding to take a side. Why else would celebrities keep pushing in the news about Darfur? Duh! The news influences people to think whatever way the news wants. We're just dumb enough to take them as truth.

That was the gist of my paper, I have a feeling I'm going to get a poor grade for the first time in his class because we don't agree on that. I have come to the conclusion that in order to get a good grade in journalism courses you have to blindly follow and agree with the prof or you won't get far. So it won't surprise me if Edgar is the same as just about every other prof I've had in that department. The only one I didn't have to worry about was Prof. Dillehey, but I haven't taken from him since that one class (I don't even know if he's still in the program!).

I also have no doubt the main topic of class will be Ted Stevens' concession yesterday allowing Begich to become our newly elected senator. Personally I am disappointed in my state's voters for two reasons. 1. we voted in Begich who is a moron (and I don't base that on his politics. the man is a moronic jerk who is only in it for the spotlight) and 2. we almost voted in a convicted felon. There was a perfectly acceptable third choice, IMO, and he was the one I voted for. Bob Bird would stand for Alaska and was not backed by a party or cause. Unlike Begich who allowed the very people he's promising Alaskans he will stand up against. Yeah. Right. Like they're going to pay for you to disagree with them. Fat chance of that.

Oh well. Six years from now we'll be sick of him (save for the church of Begich known as Anchorage) and we'll have someone replace him. Who it will be, who knows, but this is the first time in 40 years we've had two weak senators... Murkowski's just as big a joke IMHO and she's a "Republican". I quit! lol

I just called down to WDW this morning and paid off our balance. You may be thinking that we'd already did that, and we had, but with the new promotion they've got out (buy 4 nights at a resort and 4 days worth of park admission get 3 free) we were holding out hope for getting a Moderate resort - specifically the Coronado Springs. As you might have read in my last journal update. I am so very excited to be going there again. I told Erin she has to take a picture of me giving the resort a big hug. I've missed it. I could stay there every time and not feel like I was missing out on a thing!

Gaylord is home. Not sure why. Either he is checking up on me to see if I actually leave the house, or he keeps peeing his pants because he keeps having to come home to "change". I'm not sure that that is all about, but it annoys me.

It also annoys me that Judy borrowed a few of my CDs and I haven't gotten them back even though I've asked her about them. Then I get woken up at midnight last night because Gaylord is working on a stupid slide show or something and what's playing? Josh GROBAN... and it's MY CD. All you have to do is ASK, but it's really annoying that she leant MY cd to him without even asking me when she knows I've been looking for my CDs. I have use for those disks too! BLAH.

Yes, I'm a selfish little brat, but I'm just asking for a little bit of respect. Though, I haven't been the best of buddies with either of them as of late. I'm getting really tired of Gaylord trying to be the "man of his domain" and telling Judy and I what to do. He hit the roof the other night when Judy snow blowed the drive way. He said he'd do it. Yeah, well, it'd been four days since it snowed and you still hadn't gotten off your fat duff so sit down and shut up. He started yelling at me that I should have done it before Judy did. Um. I was in class when she did it. And YOU kept saying that it was YOUR job. So I stayed out of it.

Apparently he doesn't get enough jollies or something or he'd shut up and leave me alone.

He also decided it was his duty to tell me I was spending my money unwisely and that I was an ungrateful person to use my parents money in the way I was. Meaning - I shouldn't go on this Disney trip (Judy wants to go on one with him and he isn't into the idea). I got REALLY snotty with him and told him that it was MY money and ONLY my money that I was using on this trip. I worked VERY hard this summer to get it (ok so not VERY) and I saved it FOR THIS PURPOSE. I also got permission from my PARENTS (even though I am 23 and therefore an adult that does not NEED it, I still ask for it) and JUDY (whom I still owe for the last trip). I paid off a vet bill, a dentist bill, and a couple of other things before I booked the trip. AND then there's the check that came in September from the State of Alaska that was over 2,000 big ones (plus 1200 energy check). That was MY money, not my parents. I'm not using money from school or anything. I said if anything Judy was the only one who had right to say I needed to give HER the money and not go on the trip.

Then he tried to be her proxy and suggest that's what I needed to do. Considering JUDY was the one who said I should do it if I could afford it at the beginning of the summer, I knew that was crap. And if she DOES truly feel that way she should come out and say it. She's looking forward to 12 days of just her and Gaylord in the house with the dogs. She hasn't been this excited to be rid of me in a while (which kinda hurts), so I somehow doubt she'd be happy if we canceled this trip and I gave her the money.

Then Gaylord plays the wounded dog card about how he doesn't know how to get me to like him and sends Judy to make things right. How about stay out of my buisness and stop trying to be all controlling? I'm a bull headed REITTER. We don't take other people's crap lying down. You are not the one that is 'over me'. I am not your daughter, nor am I your wife (EW). I don't need to be submissive to you. so stuff it.

Isn't it amazing that I can make such a long entry when I have nothing of interest to say. I should just stop talking. ha ha. so I will. Have a nice week everyone (since it's almost over!)

I think I'm tryin to come down with a cold, I've been feeling really crappy as of late. I hope I'm wrong, I don't want to be sick for the holidays again.

VeggieTales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything

So NetFlix delivered the new VeggieTales this morning. I have to say that I wasn't overly impressed when it first started, but once they got to the meat of the story it was great.

It wasn't as good as Jonah, and I think they do best with their smaller videos, but it's definitely something I don't mind adding to my collection, just not when it's at its most expensive.

The story itself would make a great live action film - granted with obviously different characters and the like lol some situations would have to be changed - but it wouldn't be hard to do.

It was, unfortunately, not that much like a spoof on Pirates of the Caribbean, though it sorta started out like Star Wars meets Pirates. So I was really worried about its lameness factor.

Like I said, decent film, and kinda on par on the greatness factor as the new Indy. But with a good message. I'm a little annoyed that there wasn't a mention of God. I really wish Big Idea didn't allow themselves to be bought out like they did. Seriously, God is not a four letter word.

Indy 4 -- My Thoughts

Let me start off by saying, I am from the generation of Indy/Spielberg fans that did not "grow up" waiting for the next Indy movie to come out. I got to watch all three films back to back. I'd already been obsessed with Star Wars for quite a few years when my dad introduced Indy to me. Harrison Ford was my favorite actor from the time I was 9 to about 16. Indiana Jones and Harrison are one person, IMHO. I'm one of the few that prefer Jones to Solo in Ford's career. Granted Han Solo is the best Star Wars character without question, but comparing the two characters always has Dr. Jones on top.

Now. Indy 4. It's exciting just because it's Indy. Kinda like the Star Wars prequils. You hear that theme and you can't help but bounce. Everything from seeing the hat, to his stance, to the action sound effects that are so dated yet fit the movie perfectly. You can't help but get all giddy and fangirly...

...Then the movie starts. LOL. I couldn't help but feel that this was just Lucas trying to relive his glory days of the 70s and early 80s of film making. Never mind the aliens, that was lame enough (why didn't Steven stick to his guns and go against the alien idea??? seriously!), but the first 10 minutes of the movie is Indiana Jones meets American Graffiti (another film Ford was in, now that I think of it... hmmmm). We go from AG to a bit of Star Wars with some Indy mixed in.

Shia LeBouf was not needed, the character was kinda lame, and the story behind the character even more so. Saw it coming miles away (ie before I even saw the movie). The "romantic" scenes between Indy and Marion were predictable down to the very dialogue. Gaylord kept asking me if I was sure I hadn't seen this movie already. Well, to be honest, I thought I hadn't, but apparently if you saw any of Lucas's previous films, you'd already seen this one! UGH!

Yes, I get that Koepp is the one that actually wrote the screenplay, I think they just needed a scapegoat because Lucas was the one that pushed for this stupid project and the plot line (in his round about way it sounds like Spielberg was never fully on board with the plot line or anything and basically just gave in to Lucas...). Marion was a foot note, practically, if you'd seen all of the trailors you saw her part pretty much.

There were a few true Indy moments in the movie, but most of it was so far fetched EVEN FOR THIS MOVIE that I didn't feel that it worked. It wasn't entertaining or overly funny like the last three films. It wasn't all that sexy. And what was up with Cate Blanchett going all Jedi on us in the first few minutes and trying to read Indy's mind? It was just weird.

We were making fun of the ending, without giving it away I'll just say that I couldn't help but say "INDY PHONE HOME"... it was just lame.

John Williams score is top notch, as is Spielberg and Kaminski's camera work... the CGI was pretty good - but just like Star Wars and At World's End... there was way too much. ILM is really becoming more of an annoyance these days than anything else. BLAH!

Over all I give it 3 stars out of 5. I can't give Spielberg less than that, I'd give Lucas a negative rating if I could (I am so sick of his social commentary movies - the script sucks, don't blame the government!) lol. Harrison was surprisingly good as Indy (though not as SEXY), and it was Indy once in a while.

Even with my disappointment I will be getting the two disk special edition DVD... gotta complete the collection. It's SPIELBERG after all!

In Honor of Valentine's Day...

...one of film's greatest love stories/scenes of all time. And certainly Disney's HOTTEST scene EVER!

Invalid video URL.

Such a beautiful and tragic and wonderful and perfect story. No, I don't like the outcome, but I can't think of a better way to tell a story or to keep fans on their toes.

And who can't love Orlando Bloom as Will Turner in At World's End. There can't possibly be a hotter pirate on the planet. I LOVE how he was made up for AWE. The burgandy shirt alone is freaking hot. *dreamy sigh*

I better be careful, people might think I'm actually obsessed with Mr. Bloom.

Jan. 18th, 2008

Bugger, that was good!

I love Pirate bloopers lol. Absolutely hysterical. To know that they all are just normal and suck at remembering lines too is great. Johnny Depp has the most infectious laugh too. It's a quite one but his whole face lights up which cracks me up even more...

I'm watching all three Pirates movies today. Why? No real reason, other than I have the time and I have yet to watch all three back to back to back. I've done it with Star Wars - the Original Trilogy - so it's high time my new movie obsession get the same treatment. :)

I'm doing laundry, and once that's done I will finish packing and then get ready to go out to dinner. Since I will be in St. Paul on the 21st Judy's treating me early. :) We're gonna eat Chinese because I've been craving it for a week. I want an eggroll darn it!

I am so ready for this trip like you wouldn't believe. I've over packed my carry on but other than that I think I'm good as far as what I'm bringing. I just can't wait. I'm still so very bummed about Melissa and Denis, it'll just be weird not hanging with Dale and hearing the gossip lol and having Melissa and Denis tell stories on each other. I swear I've jinxed the event. Evan might as well quit now, I'm bad luck lol

I've decided that if I do any sort of 'report' from Nationals I'll only post here, but my main concern is posting photos on my photo site. ( http://alaskanmagic.smugmug.com ) but I have to keep some sort of log not only for myself, but so that my family up here don't think I've disappeared lol

Alright I gotta get my rear in gear. Ta!

Jun. 28th, 2005

Bob! I don't wanna play that! I'll look silly!

So guess what I went out and bought today hee hee heee. I am so bad ;) We bought Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush today. I am watching it now. So far it's pretty good (it just started) the DVD menu has such a cute funny little bit of action. I now also want the new VeggieTales Computer Game, Minnesota Cuke and the Coconut Apes. Yes I know I lead a sad life LOL but VeggieTales is too cute NOT to want it!!!!!!

I didn't get to go paint at the church today because mom won't take duane to do errands so I'm stuck with him. UGH. He's been such a brat this week. I am getting so tired of having to cater to him.

They have little peas playing cheerleaders on the short before the movie of this veggietales film... that's odd. LOL

Nothing else to report. This is being xposted on my other journal :)
-Tonichelle

I need VeggieTales Icons ;)

Jun. 20th, 2005

So yeah Father's Day was okay yesterday

Even though MY DAD was not HERE. He was way up in TOK. But still it was nice to have the evening off from church. LOL. I was being a lazy bum yesterday after driving over to pizza hut for lunch and back to the church because mom forgot half a dozen things. I'm totally getting into this driving thing. LOL

Then I came home and got into my pj bottoms because they're more comfy and I broke out my scrapbook stuff and started working on my nationals scrapbook. I'm all the way up to Katie and Garrett's LP Practice (the one where Hez and I randomly ran into each other LOL and we were more interested in what Peter Carruthers was up to ;) instead of who was skating... or at least I was) Everything was going good until I made a page upsidedown... and it's my favorite page... so I have to redo it... I ruined a whole page of Katie & Garrett *sobbles*

I watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves yesterday afternoon. It's one of my all time favorite Kevin Costner films. Christian Slater is awesome in the movie too, as is Morgan Freeman (in my country, we talk to our women... we do not drug them with plants" hee hee. Great movie. The witch scares the crap out of me though! ;)

Then I plugged in JAWS and wanted mom to stay and watch it with me (she was gardening all day yesterday) because you know people say this movie is scare your pants of scary... yeah. I guess generation ILM just isn't going to be scared by a rubber jawwed shark. Because it wasn't scary. At all. Nope. BOOOOOOORRRRRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG LOL However, Steven Spielberg's handle of the shots and everything is great. Just not a favorite movie of mine. So today I'll watch Saving Private Ryan and probably The Mask of Zorro and then I'll drive and go get more (can you believe that the Kenai blockbuster DOESN'T HAVE ET?????????)

Today I have an interview at the Kenai Visitor & Cultural Center. I'm scheduled for 1:45pm AKST, so please keep me in your prayers as I go and try to get this job. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want this job. So I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I get it. :)

So yeah I am going to go... I am getting nervous so I am going to surf the net or something to relax myself (ha ha)

(btw, I have 245 star wars icons as of today and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the one I'm using for this entry)

Jun. 18th, 2005

"There are over 400 eggs, odds are one of them's bound to like you..."

ok so yeah I'm watching Finding Nemo now. There is nothing on the network stations, and since my parents don't even have cable Im stuck trying to amuse myself in anyway I can hee hee

So it took an extra long time to get my contacts in today. Not sure why but yeah they are now in. LOL. I am so pathetic.

As is the weather... for crying outloud... the rain is still pouring (and yes I realized I didn't spell it correctly earlier) and it knocked out the pwer for about 20 minutes. CRAZY-NESS.

So right before the power went out, and while I was still trying to get the stupid contact in my eye, the Kenai Visitor Center called. I have to go in for an interview on Monday at 1:45!!!!!! YAY! But now I get to worry about it for 2 days... *sigh* so pray that that goes well :)

so yeah I was going to go out today and rent more movies, but mom has me freaking out about hydroplaning so I am going to stay in and hope the weather clears up a bit more..

Oh I have a "goal" of sorts that I want to achieve this summer. Now, don't laugh, but during my visualization in the media course we were discussing great movies and great directors. I of course went gushfesty over Steven Spielberg, and very few people agreed with me. Tim Burton and Michael Moore were considered better. Tim Burton MAYBE could be in teh same realm... but Michael Moore??? GAG ME. Anyway then people started talking about some of Spielberg's movies that I hadnt seen and then I realized just how many I hadn't... so I am going to make a list of all of his films... and I'll cross out the ones I have seen. Hopefully by September I'll have seen all of them

Here's the List )

ok so I am going to surf the net and watch Nemo...

Jun. 15th, 2005

Mr. & Mrs. Smith = Awesome non-Star Wars movie! ha ha

Ok, before I go into a total hollywood gushfest I better tell you all about my day yesterday (hee hee).

I had a stinkin eye appointment yesterday and it took forever because one of the machiene's broke and the dr tried to fix it and it wouldn't fix and so then we went into another office and used that machiene but it was missing certain things so he was getting really frustrated. I found it funny, lol. I do need to get a new prescription, but no biggie, they haven't changed too much and it has almost been 4 years since the last time they were changed so it's really no biggie.

So then I got my first set of contacts, and while my eyes are a pain in the butt to get the dumb things in(they're so sensitive that they water just looking at them. it sucks!) I really liked it. I wore them longer than I was supposed to for the first day but that was because I went to the movies and the movie didn't get out till late (or rather we drove around for a while afterwards before we went home). I also got a new VeggieTales movie "The Duke and the Pie War" it's not their best, but I soooooo want the next two that are coming out this year "Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush" and "Lord of the Beans" both look to be hilarious from beginning to end!!!!! *gushes over the wonder that is VeggieTales*

and that leads me to Mr. & Mrs. Smith. This movie is just A-MAZ-ING! Seriously I loved it. It is a well balanced film, not just a blow everything up and that's the only part of the movie worth watching. There's quite a bit of language, but not much more than in Ocean's 11 so that was ok, and the "sex scenes" weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be. Thanks to </a></b></a>[info]highhopes for giving me a heads up on what to expect!!!! That really helped me decide if I should go or not. So yeay!!!!! GO SEE THE MOVIE! It is so worth the cost of admission, baby!!!!

Jun. 11th, 2005

Momma always said life was like a box of chocolates...

... you never know what you're gonna get.

So guess what I'm watching hee hee! I talked mom into renting movies last night after the VBS parent night (which went amazingly well!) we ended up with five movies. We watched one last night, well correction: I sat and watched Ocean's Eleven all the way through and my parents fell asleep, though both woke up for the end. The first half of that movie is so slow pacing wise that I was losing it. Seriously when you have Brad Pitt and George Clooney who deliver lines so freaking the same in just about every scene you seriously need to up the pacing. LOL. But for some reason I am really starting to like Mr. Pitt. I've never been a big fan of his, but I really liked him in Ocean's Eleven. I want to see Ocean's Twelve now. LOL. Matt Damon and Brad Pitt were awesome in this movie. LOL

The other movies we rented were Forrest Gump, Down With Love(which I watched this morning. David Hyde Pierce and Ewan McGregor need to be in another movie together, they really seem to click), The Family Man (which none of us have seen before), and mom rented Guarding Tess (which I have no desire to watch).

Speaking of Brad Pitt movies, I want to see Mr. & Mrs. Smith really bad but I read this review and now I'm worried. The sexuality I knew there would be a lot of it because it's Mr. and Mrs. Sexuality but the "violent sex scene" has me wondering just what is shown. Dr. Dobson's people REALLY exaggerate the bad stuff (I hate their review on Revenge of the Sith) so before I totally swear off watching the movie I want to know about it. So if anyone sees it tell me what you think ha ha!

So yeah nothing really to report... I just needed an excuse to find out as much as I could about Mr. & Mrs. Smith ha ha!

luv you all!
-Tonichelle

edited to add: I forgot to mention that I ran into Ian (jr high/high school crush) at blockbuster last night. *dreamy sigh* He is such a sweetheart... I love random run ins with him... though I manage to look like crap each and every time! LOL He's here for the summer and is looking to do some fishing, so I'm sure at some point this summer he and dad will run into each other out on the river. And dad says if that happens he'll try and get that boy to go fishing with him ha ha! He's liked Ian since Ian and I were in 1st grade together. Ian seems to really respect dad too which is neat, and makes for our friendship to work as we're in completely different circles (though I guess Ian doesn't see it that way, which annoys so many of his friends ha ha). Oh well, if they do make plans to go fishing this summer I am so going to crash their party. the 50 bucks for the license will be worth it! ha ha!

So I survived

the first day of Vacation Bible School. If I never have to hear the song "Raise Some Praise" again I will die a happy girl ha ha. Unfortunately I know it will be played regularly this week. UGH

In other news, I submitted my resume to the Kenai Visitor's Center this afternoon. Pray that it's what they're looking for. I would love this job. It would completely rock to have a job. Especially down HERE in the SUMMER. And it's something I know loads about. I get to gush about the awesomeness that is Kenai/Alaska. Yeah I whine about the winter, but the summers flat ROCK here.

Kassy comes home on the 12th! I am so excited to see her again, though I worry she'll be changed and we'll have even less in common. It's not like she and I have been the closest of best friends in a while, but still. I hate change of any kind, even if it's for the best.

Oh! and if anyone has seen Madagascar can you tell me if you liked it? Dad wants to see it, but then one of my close friends came back from it yesterday and he didn't like it (but he doesn't like Shrek either). And then one of my favorite little kids said he didn't like it either. But he doesn't like Revenge of the Sith either so what does he know ;) ha ha!

I love Mrs. Joy's grandkids: Tyreke and Marcus... Ty is 4 and Marcus is almost 4. They crack me up!

So I was all ready for springing ahead (well as ready as I could be to lose an hour of sleep *sob*) and then the POWER WENT OUT *sobs* so I totally missed getting up so I didn't make it to church... oh well...

I talked Aunt Judy into going and getting the Incredibles after work today. heh heh heh. Jack-Jack is eville ;)

We went to see "The Pacifier" last night. IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY! Way better than what any of the reviews said. I was pleasantly surprised! Can not wait to get it on DVD.

Speaking of DVDs I have 3 that I want to get... "National Treasure" "The Incredibles" and "Finding Neverland"

I am still wanting "A Cinderella Story"

*sigh*

Hillary Swank annoys me to no end...

She's the only one who sounded incredibly full of herself going over the time limit (ok well Barbie Striesand had that air about her, but she annoys me no matter what she does)

needless to say the Aviator won way too many and the Passion was screwed over because of it's message. Hollywood, once again, sucks LOL

but I knew that for a long time...

Someday, Johnny Depp will not just be recognized, he will be rewarded...

Million Dollar Baby won? :-p Ray was great, why not Ray? At least Jamie Foxx won... "Ohhhhhh" "Ahhhhhhh" "Oh!" "Ah!" :)

I did a lot of nothing today. Just did laundry and scanned photos... I have a lot of stuff to do this week... and I'm stressing....

oh yeah, what was with Chris saying he wasn't going to insult the president and then he did anyway? And only one John Kerry joke? :-p Even Steve Martin did better. The jokes were L-A-M-E for the most part, just re-hashed from other awards shows... I say we get someone who actually likes the show next year...

and now I am going to bed because I have stayed up way too late watching the politiks of the Oscars unfold....

and in honor of one of the many whom I believe should have won and didn't.. a quote about John Williams (even though Harry Potter sucks, the music is great LOL) by Steven Spielberg...
"The day that John called me over to his house, he was very pleased ‘cause he had just completed the score for ‘Jaws,’ and he wanted to play some of the main themes on the piano. And I sat next to him, and he just used four fingers and he began going “dah dah, dah dah…” That was it and I said, ‘That’s all?’ He said, ‘I really think that’s all you need.’"

Judging Amy (just a fangirly type post)

this is probably the most liberal show I can watch and love! ha ha! I am really liking tonight's episode... Kyle's baby thing is the least favorite storyline of mine... just because I think it's overkill on his story... he's a screw up, we get that, do we NEED another baby storyline?

I also am confused with the Jillian-Peter on again off again saga

but I finally LIKE a guy Amy is dating... if she doesn't stay with David and marry him I'm gonna be mad(they're kids will feel weird but so what they will get over it)

I love that Cheech is on every week as well... he's a great actor. Loved him in Nash Bridges... he was great on that show!!

David is my favorite new character. He was a real jerk in his first episode, but over all I rather like him.. he's cute and he's smart... caring... and dude he's got emotional baggage that totally tugs at the heart strings!!!

Maxine was really depressed... love that Amy's baby brother is home great character...

anyway there's my ramble... I'm such a dork

In real people news
School was good today... ran into one of my many friends named John. He is also a JPC major and it's his first year at UAA so he was giving me some tips on different classes he's taking this semester... I miss my friends... we talked for 2 hours I was late to class but it was worth it just to talk to someone from home, who wouldn't argue with me even though he is my polar opposite religiously and politically... and who is just so much fun to be around... we're not the best of friends but we talk openly anyway. :)

then I came home and BSed my way through my homework... didn't get it done but oh well... Mariah and her brother Zach were here for us to watch so I gave Mariah my coloring book and crayons and she was telling everyone she was doing homework just like me. I felt special... she's such a cutie... though when I spanked Yuka for stealing food off my plate I got a lecture about how it was mean and that I shouldn't spank yuka... she's a liberal in the making! HA HA!!!Seriously though our carpet is now orange in teh living room because between the two toddlers they managed to spill 2 glasses of juice PLUS a tippy cup... incredible! LOL We get them tomorrow too so it should be fun

Anchorage Baptist Temple came by while I was in class with Mr. Dry Eyes. Gave my aunt some info. I really feel that ABT is more my speed... I know where Dr. Jerry Prevo stands, I know my pastor would approve, and I just felt more at home walking in that sanctuary... I know it'll bum G'ma out(and G'pa too) but maybe if I still hang with them a lot they won't mind... and hey G'ma can still hook me up with guys from their church, right?? LOL Seriously though I wouldn't have to go too many more times before joining unless God really just screams NO. I should probably still check out Grandview, but we'll see.

Tomorrow I'm going to go see Friday Night Lights after babysitting... should be fun. Though plugged in online says there's some not so great words said and things done it should be good over all... we'll see.

I want to see Ben Afflec's holiday movie when it comes out too... it looks funny. Granted he's a big Kerry supporter, but unless it's a plot to push that I won't have a problem watching him. The only thing is he and Scott Peterson look and sound an awful lot alike... kinda freaky!!!

ok we'll I am all over the place tonight so I will end this for now...

Bored....

Ok I am packing, but how much fun can that possibly me? LOL

Mom and Dad went hiking and wont be back till late Wednesday (if all goes well). Duane is at Pastor Deans for many reasons, mostly because I said I didn't want him bugging me while I packed. (Let's just say teh kid wants me out, but at the same time wants me to take only the things he doesn't want/"need") I am getting more done with him gone than I even expected to, so that's a plus.

Erin will be spending the night while they're gone, but she is so "over booked" in the next two weeks though that she won't be "home" till late. Oh well.

The pugnic went well on Saturday, it was insanely hot (90* at 6:30 and it was still going up!) but the pugs had a good time. Yuka got herself and 6 others in trouble when they all followed her out of the park and into the street... thankfully it's not a busy neighborhood. She was very naughty.

Sunday I didn't do much after church, but Erin and I did go and see the Stepford Wives. I knew going in that there was going to be a lot of sexualiy and femminisim (sp) two things I don't really enjoy, but with Matthew Brodderick, Nicole Kiddman, Bette Midler, Faith Hill, and Glenn Close how could I not! LOL it was a well made well acted movie, I'll give you that. Some of the lines were great (Bette's character, pre-Barbieization was so funny) but a lot of lines in the previews never made it to the final cut... it was about 1hr and 45 minutes and while it was good it was not great and I don't recommend those of you who are conservatives(or very naieve) to go and see it(or rent it for that matter) it was good, but if I had to do it over I would have waited for the TV version where the nasty stuff would be cut out LOL

Shrek 2

It's a good movie. A lot of people say it's better than the original, but I don't agree. I didn't like the ending, thought it was a little out there even though it was funny. Some parts were not confusing, but it was like "why did they put that in there".. There's a transvestite bartender, but he's in 3 scenes -- the last being the ending and was too suggestive. Pinochio is not as innocent as everyone thinks... it's just very UGH. LOL but it was funny and I recommend it. The two bumps in the road are minor... all of the good characters are in the movie so yeay! :)

Today at 4pm Erin and I are taking Duane to the carnival--he's sick as a dog but who cares. We're meeting up with Erin's coworkers so it should be fun. I have no money but Duane is paying for it with his "savings" so it's all good LOL
