Just in time for nationals...

I didn't plan my vacation right... I thought I'd get to miss out on the stupidness that surrounds nationals. no such luck. Oh well.

The trip was awesome. Aside from my computer not playing well with the internet/my camera/everything else I had a great time. I did end up getting sick for a few days, but all in all it was an amazing and fun trip and I wish it could have lasted longer. I miss unreality already!

I got sick on the plane, and am still a bit sick... I'm praying that I am not coming down with the flu but I don't think I'm that lucky.

Just hanging out with Haille Rae today. She's coming down with a cold, so we've bummed around the house all day. She stole a couple of things that I bought for myself down at Disney and added it to her collection of Disney stuff I got her. I am still trying to figure out how to get it back.

I want a shower in the worst way. I didn't take one last night as I crashed at 8pm... and I've been up with Haille since six... *sigh*

Oh the countdown, now has ended

Off we go - oh! - who could ask for anything more!

Last post until I make it to probably Disney Property. Though I hear MCO has free net access, so depending how long we have to wait for DME...

I'm packed. Gotta dress. Gaylord needs the computer room. So... I'm outta here! WAGON!

Oh that Magic Kingdom in the sky!
We will all be there together by and by!
All religions there are practiced
Except for Southern Baptist!
When we reach that Magic Kingdom in the sky!

OMG! DISNEY!

I'm going to pack up my computer tonight after I get off in a couple of hours, so this is my last post on this journal until I get back (Jan. 22 - AT THE EARLIEST). I am planning to check in online occassionally tomorrow on facebook and email, but from my aunt's computer. I am so excited it isn't even funny, as you can imagine.

Anyway, I will have net access most days when I'm down at Disney but I cannot promise any sort of chat or email exchange. We're basically going to get online to update our journal which can be found here - http://wdwbaby.insanejournal.com - and you don't have to be a member to read it (but friend us anyway!).

It would be really awesome of people following US Nationals could email me with results of Dance and Mens... but most IMPORTANTLY JUNIOR MENS... I want to know how Keegan is doing, and since I don't have text messaging email is the best way to go *HINT*.

So I hope everyone has a wonderful two weeks. I will see you when I get back! *hugs* I'm going to miss the Nationals gang... but I'll make it up eventually (I have gotten guilt trips from several people and Spokane has been calling... *sigh*).

Now... bring me that horizon.

Happy 2009...

Hope you all had a safe and happy new year. I made it to midnight in New York and Ohio but then I went to bed. ha ha. I'm a wimp. I've never really thought midnight ws something all that special anyway.

Now I'm watching the Rose Parade. From what I understand Alaska has a float in the parade this year celebrating FIFTY YEARS OF STATEHOOD.

Today also marks the 10 day mark! I'm not excited about that at all. Nope. In fact, I don't even want to go anymore! ha ha! I've packed my clothes, gotta move a few things around, and then I just have a few things after that and I'll be set.

Got a call from Janine Seavey two nights ago asking if I could help cook up some food for the three Seavey's running the Iditarod to leave at food drops, so I get to make lasagna for them... and have it done by the sixth!

I also have my make up interview test thing with the Census Bureau on Monday, so busy busy busy.

Gonna go watch the flowers roll down the street...

Nov. 20th, 2008

Haven't done anything exciting...

I've been doing my best to not get sick, but last night I was defeated. I don't have a full blown cold but I just feel incredibly run down. The three day migraine hasn't helped, either. It's managable today, though. Which is good, because I don't want to miss another one of Edgar's classes. haha!

We're currently watching Salvador in class, it is not a very good film, if you ask me. Personally if a film only uses the same three swear words and very little else, it's not worth watching. My paper on the film will probably not be very good. Then again neither was my paper on Outfoxed. And before you think I just defended FoxNews, I didn't. I can't stand the program either, but I hate that the people on the movie said that Fox is the only biased network out there. It's like the kettle calling the pot black. That the press tries to say they don't push one candidate or agenda over another is absurd. In a perfect world journalism would stay neutral but it NEVER HAS. Look at how the Revolution was started, or just about every war we learn about in school. It starts with some big wig deciding to take a side. Why else would celebrities keep pushing in the news about Darfur? Duh! The news influences people to think whatever way the news wants. We're just dumb enough to take them as truth.

That was the gist of my paper, I have a feeling I'm going to get a poor grade for the first time in his class because we don't agree on that. I have come to the conclusion that in order to get a good grade in journalism courses you have to blindly follow and agree with the prof or you won't get far. So it won't surprise me if Edgar is the same as just about every other prof I've had in that department. The only one I didn't have to worry about was Prof. Dillehey, but I haven't taken from him since that one class (I don't even know if he's still in the program!).

I also have no doubt the main topic of class will be Ted Stevens' concession yesterday allowing Begich to become our newly elected senator. Personally I am disappointed in my state's voters for two reasons. 1. we voted in Begich who is a moron (and I don't base that on his politics. the man is a moronic jerk who is only in it for the spotlight) and 2. we almost voted in a convicted felon. There was a perfectly acceptable third choice, IMO, and he was the one I voted for. Bob Bird would stand for Alaska and was not backed by a party or cause. Unlike Begich who allowed the very people he's promising Alaskans he will stand up against. Yeah. Right. Like they're going to pay for you to disagree with them. Fat chance of that.

Oh well. Six years from now we'll be sick of him (save for the church of Begich known as Anchorage) and we'll have someone replace him. Who it will be, who knows, but this is the first time in 40 years we've had two weak senators... Murkowski's just as big a joke IMHO and she's a "Republican". I quit! lol

I just called down to WDW this morning and paid off our balance. You may be thinking that we'd already did that, and we had, but with the new promotion they've got out (buy 4 nights at a resort and 4 days worth of park admission get 3 free) we were holding out hope for getting a Moderate resort - specifically the Coronado Springs. As you might have read in my last journal update. I am so very excited to be going there again. I told Erin she has to take a picture of me giving the resort a big hug. I've missed it. I could stay there every time and not feel like I was missing out on a thing!

Gaylord is home. Not sure why. Either he is checking up on me to see if I actually leave the house, or he keeps peeing his pants because he keeps having to come home to "change". I'm not sure that that is all about, but it annoys me.

It also annoys me that Judy borrowed a few of my CDs and I haven't gotten them back even though I've asked her about them. Then I get woken up at midnight last night because Gaylord is working on a stupid slide show or something and what's playing? Josh GROBAN... and it's MY CD. All you have to do is ASK, but it's really annoying that she leant MY cd to him without even asking me when she knows I've been looking for my CDs. I have use for those disks too! BLAH.

Yes, I'm a selfish little brat, but I'm just asking for a little bit of respect. Though, I haven't been the best of buddies with either of them as of late. I'm getting really tired of Gaylord trying to be the "man of his domain" and telling Judy and I what to do. He hit the roof the other night when Judy snow blowed the drive way. He said he'd do it. Yeah, well, it'd been four days since it snowed and you still hadn't gotten off your fat duff so sit down and shut up. He started yelling at me that I should have done it before Judy did. Um. I was in class when she did it. And YOU kept saying that it was YOUR job. So I stayed out of it.

Apparently he doesn't get enough jollies or something or he'd shut up and leave me alone.

He also decided it was his duty to tell me I was spending my money unwisely and that I was an ungrateful person to use my parents money in the way I was. Meaning - I shouldn't go on this Disney trip (Judy wants to go on one with him and he isn't into the idea). I got REALLY snotty with him and told him that it was MY money and ONLY my money that I was using on this trip. I worked VERY hard this summer to get it (ok so not VERY) and I saved it FOR THIS PURPOSE. I also got permission from my PARENTS (even though I am 23 and therefore an adult that does not NEED it, I still ask for it) and JUDY (whom I still owe for the last trip). I paid off a vet bill, a dentist bill, and a couple of other things before I booked the trip. AND then there's the check that came in September from the State of Alaska that was over 2,000 big ones (plus 1200 energy check). That was MY money, not my parents. I'm not using money from school or anything. I said if anything Judy was the only one who had right to say I needed to give HER the money and not go on the trip.

Then he tried to be her proxy and suggest that's what I needed to do. Considering JUDY was the one who said I should do it if I could afford it at the beginning of the summer, I knew that was crap. And if she DOES truly feel that way she should come out and say it. She's looking forward to 12 days of just her and Gaylord in the house with the dogs. She hasn't been this excited to be rid of me in a while (which kinda hurts), so I somehow doubt she'd be happy if we canceled this trip and I gave her the money.

Then Gaylord plays the wounded dog card about how he doesn't know how to get me to like him and sends Judy to make things right. How about stay out of my buisness and stop trying to be all controlling? I'm a bull headed REITTER. We don't take other people's crap lying down. You are not the one that is 'over me'. I am not your daughter, nor am I your wife (EW). I don't need to be submissive to you. so stuff it.

Isn't it amazing that I can make such a long entry when I have nothing of interest to say. I should just stop talking. ha ha. so I will. Have a nice week everyone (since it's almost over!)

Completed Disney Song...

Erin wrote a song 2 years ago on our road trip to the tune of on the road again to celebrate the end of our adventure...

now we've once again taken a song and run with it. The following is the longest song in the world (we think anyway lol took long enough to write!). I can't take much credit, aside for a couple of verses and a few grammatical/spelling corrections I didn't do much work. This is all Erin!

So here it is, in all of it's glory!

"We Want Disney"
(To the Tune of "I Got Rythym")

Oh the countdown's -
Finally ended!
Off we go, oh!
Who could ask for anything more

I am flying -
To Seattle!
To see Toni!
Who could ask for anything more!

Look there’s Toni! She looks angry!
Should not ask questions anymore!

Way more under here! )

Nov. 22nd, 2004

Ok, here we go...

I'm going to try and recap my Disney World trip... it'll be long, and I'll forget things and have to remember them later, but it's going to be a while before we get my big bag o' film developed, so I better get going with this before I forget everything!

Wednesday, November 3rd - Woke up to the news that Kerry conceded. I was exstatic! It was amazing. Anyway after watching the early news show we started haulling butt on the packing. It didn't take as long as I thought and I was able to chat it up with Chele for a little bit, and then we watched Bush's speech. All the while power was going in and out so we'd missed what Kerry'd said in his speech. I was bummed, wanted to hear what he had to say. Anyway after Bush got done we took Cookie to the kennel, it was snowing so hard it made a 15 minute trip into an hour long trip. Incredibly bad. I was worried that our plane would get grounded. But! all was good and that brings me to Thursday... Oh yeah! I thought I'd lost my walkman so we went out and got a cheap one. This is important for the story, so remember that or I might forget about it haha!

Thursday, November 4th - Around midnight we took off for Seattle. I slept. So not to bad there. Slept listening to my hommie, Kenny C! ha ha We landed 3 hours later in Seattle and I was so dizzy that I practically passed out on the floor at the gate... 2/3 hours later we were back on a plane flying for 6 more hours. It was awful, but I slept. Listening to Clay Aiken and then when we got closer to Florida I woke up and switched to Disney music. I boogied for a little while in my seat until Aunt Judy threatened to not take me to the parks LOL so then I went back to sleep. We landed about 5:30pm Florida time, and grabbed the Mears shuttle to the Pop Century Resort. Which looks WAY better in the pamphlet and video that Disney sent out. We ended up getting lost trying to find our room. And when we did we were in a PINK building, and our room was 80s themed with Little Mermaid posters. It sucked! LOL The sheets were even pink. It was gross! PINK SUCKS!!! We were so tired we ordered Pizza(it's the only thing they deliver at that stupid place) and it was the nastiest stuff ever! We did not get our money's worth for that dinner. The salad dressing was the only good tasting stuff. So then we turned on CSI and basically fell asleep before the theme song even came on. I woke up around midnight with cramps and got sick. and that lasted for a couple of days. Don't eat Pop Century pizza! It will kill you! LOL

Friday, Nov 5th - I found my discman that I couldn't find when packing. It was in my camera case. Not sure how it got there... We hit Epcot first thing. I was hoping for a short stay there. But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo We stayed all day. It wasn't as bad as it could have been. BUT it was because Judy could not find a place where she didn't feel like she'd get caught dumping uncle tom's ashes... it was only a film canister amount of ash, but she still just knew she'd get caught. We did a lot of things I didn't get to the last time, so it was ok. They have a new statue over by the water animal exhibit thing. It's a Nemo one. Hopefully the pictures turn out! I got to see Manitees!!! I love those big sea cows. I'd never seen one up close before so it was really neat. The whole exhibit is changed because now Finding Nemo is the theme so it was annoying to hear Mr. Ray sing stupid songs about everything. The Light Show is the BEST thing about Epcot. I love Illuminations. After that Judy finally found a place where she felt safe enough to lay Tom to rest... He's in the flowerbox right when you first hit the Canadian part of the Around the World thing... I'll upload the picture of me sitting there right before she did it later... We went home and crashed.

ok I have to go do somethings so I will finish this later...until then!

Here's the rest... )

ok that's enough for now I'll talk about my trip home and the wedding later because I really need to type up this paper that has gone nowhere in teh week I've been trying to write it. ugh!

Today in review...

So lets just say sleeping without my puppy just can not happen unless I am sharing a room with a friend or something. I missed her so much last night... it was too quiet without her snoring! Yikes!!!!!! I guess I will live. 3 days till DISNEY WORLD!!! So I should look at this as a worthy sacrifice, right? WRONG. I wish I could bring her with me. I miss my baby girl. :(

Anyway I got up at 6:40 because, lets face it, it was really 7:40 and even though I went to bed at midnight(which was really 11pm?) I just was ready to get up. I caught wind of Halloween on Ice being shown on my CBS station at midnight so I taped that... it was *ok* but not as good as it could have been. Anyway I got ready for church wearing my spiffy new slacks that my mom bought me... I feel so good in them *hugs her slacks*

Went to church... heard about all the fun from Saturday night... I was bummed but oh well I wasn't feeling well so I will get over it. Went to church the whole candidate thing wasn't as bad as I thought... the last guy up there said "I'm so and so(I can't remember his name ha ha) and I don't have any ads on TV" that's when the entire congregation went into hysterics laughing and applauding... I think he won his district today ha ha! Pastor Prevo had a joke about the media(see "Media? Biased?" down below) it was good. Then he finished his thing on Tithing today... I will miss the next two sundays and I am bummed... I really like his preaching BUT!!! for one Sunday I am on vacation and the next sunday I get to be in Kenai in my home church so it is alllllllllllll good!!!!!! :)

oh and my name was in the bulletin for being a new member, isn't that cool? (it's the simple things in life ha ha!)

Erin's brother got in a major accident the other day and so she might not come home for Christmas :( I miss her. I am so lonely. :(

Keith and Trish are going to come over tomorrow night. and I start packing tomorrow... Disney World or Bust!!!

The trick-or-treaters were so cute tonight... some of the costumes were great... we had a total of 7 spongebobs... a scooby doo, teenage mutant ninja turtle, a ladybug, lots of ghouls, and SNOOPY which was the coolest costume of the night... in total I'll bet we had 45 kids...

oh yeah and 2 more days of annoying TV campaign ads. Just remember and vote Bush so my trip is a happy one ;) ha ha!

Almost Vacation Time!!!

Mom came up Friday night to pick up Yuka and take her down to Kenai... we caught the UAA musical "1776" (ok so it was originally a broadway musical, but the UAA Theatre troupe is performing it now) it was really good. If you ever get a chance to see the musical DO. It's a great script, great music (there is one song that had a subtle political message, but unless you're a republican you probably wouldn't even care ha ha!) it was great. My one problem with it is it's 3 hours and they started at 8pm... ICK...

Then this morning Yuka and mom headed home. I miss my puppy. I cried after they left. I am really emo right now and so it's effecting a lot of things (namely school). I am SOOOOOOOOO ready for vacation. I think it will help. And then after Disney World Valerie gets married!!! I am going to be so emo-ed out! ha ha! :) She's a close friend and I love her so much (ok so I have never met Nate, but that's not *my* fault...) I feel honored to help her by photographing it. Got the "go ahead" from Tasha Grossl to do whatever Val wants as long as I don't get in the way of her camera ha ha!!! I love Tasha. She rocks! :)

My period started a couple of days ago and it's the worst I've had in a VERY long time, which I don't know if it is causing my emoness or it's being caused by my emoness... or stress... I dunno but I feel awful today... *sigh* so I didn't go to the costume party which I was looking forward to. I just didn't feel up to it. But I will be heading off to church in the morning. As if I wasn't sick enough of politics it's "Candidate Sunday" at ABT so I get to see my g'ma's old boyfriend (Congressman Don Young... in high school he dated my g'ma.) Isn't that random? ha ha. She calls him Donny. He's great. So I get to go through all of that, but it's ok because my new church rocks and I feel way more at home... Dr. Prevo is a great guy and has really helped with my transition even though it's a huge church it really feels small and homey. It's great. Thank you to all who have prayed that I find a church here and continue to pray that I get to know more people and get some lasting friendships. I NEED that right now. You all here are great but you're a bit far away to hang out with on Friday nights ha ha!!! (though chatting is never bad I DO like to go out to a movie and such! ;))

Monday I have to pack. Tuesday I have an exam in teh morning and then I am HOME FREE BABY! I am flying out on Wednesday but I am going to skip my evening class... I want to watch the election unfold...

SPEAKING OF ELECTION (and please don't be offended) VOTE BUSH! Even if you don't like him, because if Kerry wins my whole stinking vacation will be ruined. (hey, it's for only 4 years, and if you love me...) <---if only it were that simple haha!

I fly out on the red eye Wednesday (technically Thursday) and will be travelling ALL STINKIN DAY on an airplane... pray it stays up there and that I don't get sick... I will HOPEFULLY have email and will check in, but don't count on it. (Heather I may email you and use you has my messanger if I have to ha ha!)

anyway that's it from me for right now... will chat at ya laterz!
